I’m pretty sure this is just some scam, since I get these kind of emails all the time. What do you guys think? have you ever heard of anything like this before? do u get them? what are the scammers trying to do anyway?
Clarence
It’s a scam! I’ve just received the same email with the same prize amount. Scammers are simply trying to get your personal information, which can be used for a number of illegal activities. Notice you weren’t given a telephone number in which to contact them… a sure indication it’s a scam. Secondly, do you remember entering a UK lottery? Me neither…
I answer many questions regarding this very topic every single day. I always direct the questionnaire to the below link. This site has a comprehensive list of many scams and frauds, as well as steps to take if you have been the victim of either and most importantly an online form where you can report scams/frauds.
Contrary to popular belief if is worth reporting any scams or frauds. Some people have actually been caught and successfully prosecuted, albeit only a small minority.
I tell them that there is a federal law that prohibits US citizens
in taking part in any foreign lottery or lotto
(there is a such a law as well)
