I received an e-mail saying that I won several thousand dollars in a Feb. 17 monthly UK lottery promo. I never entered a UK lottery. They asked for my name, address, age, sex, occupation, phone number, country of residence and e-mail address. They do not ask for any bank or checking account number. There is a contact e-mail address to respond to. Can this possibly be legitimate?

I have had about 20 of these emails since New Year..all seem to generate from UK and have different “agents” to contact..all require the same type of personal info. Some say they are UK Lottery..the one today says it even has an endorsement from Bill Gates! I have not replied to any as I feel it must be a scam (if it’s not then I am now a multi-millionaire!) but I am curious to know what it’s all about. Thanks.

I have been seduced into thinking I had won this pile of monies through a Lottery overseas, when I first began using the computer. Long story shorter, I was to send monies to get the monies etc. I found a lead to contact Scotland yard and then I just felt stupid for falling for this and here I am again, hoping it is real, but don’t know how to find out if this is a phoney scam. Is there a site whereby I can submit this name of a potential bogus company and find out the facts?Gosh, I sure do need the monies, but it sounds so far fetched. Thanking you, in advance for responding!

We recieved an email for a “winning” 2nd place UK online lottery. We would like to report this email to the proper law enforcement agencies in the USA and the UK so they can arrest the people who are doing this fraud. Its just a ploy to get banking details so they can rob people. We need real email or snail mail addys to forward/send this email to for investigation and prosecution. We need to help stop this kind of fraud before some innocent, pc illiterate person falls for the scam and loses all their life savings unknowingly.
