The only requirement to play the UK lottery is that you buy a ticket.

You probably could have someone buy the tickets for you, but the issue is one of trust. Do you trust that they will buy the ticket, not charge too much as a handling fee, and then actually send it to you in a reasonable time frame, so you know they are not going to steal the winning ticket.
